A woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing multiple gunshots at the Los Angeles home of global music star Rihanna. Authorities say the singer and several family members were inside the property at the time of the shooting but no one was injured. The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and now faces multiple felony charges.

What Authorities Say Happened
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the shooting occurred on March 8, 2026, at the singer’s home in the Beverly Crest area of Los Angeles. Investigators say a woman drove to the area and fired several shots from a vehicle toward the property.
Officials reported that about 10 rounds were fired, with bullets striking the house, a trailer on the property, and a nearby home.
At the time of the incident, the following people were reportedly on the property:
Rihanna
A$AP Rocky (her partner)
Their three children
Rihanna’s mother
Staff members and neighbors nearby
Authorities said no injuries were reported, though investigators noted that people at the property “easily could have been hit.”
The Suspect
Police arrested Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, a 35-year-old woman from Orlando, Florida. She faces 14 felony charges, including:

Attempted murder
Assault with a semiautomatic firearm
Shooting into an inhabited dwelling
Shooting at a motor vehicle
Investigators said she allegedly fired the shots using an AR-15-style rifle from a parked car before leaving the scene. She was later stopped and arrested by police in Sherman Oaks, a neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Ortiz is currently being held on bail and could face life in prison if convicted.
Possible Motive
Authorities say the motive remains under investigation. However, law enforcement sources reported that the suspect had previously posted angry messages about Rihanna on social media before the incident.
Police have not confirmed any prior personal connection between the suspect and the singer.
Investigation Status
The case is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division, and prosecutors have issued a protective order requiring the suspect to stay away from Rihanna and her family.
The suspect’s court arraignment is scheduled for late March 2026, where she will formally respond to the charges.
